Please Help

My work as a vocalist requires me to sing three hours every night. I get home at 5 a.m. and wake up at 3 p.m. to have "breakfast". I don't want to quit 9not yet, at least) but I need your advice on how to stay healthy while singing in front of smokers. I have twice gotten UTI, suffer dry skin, a sore throat and live the life of a bat. But I still want to sing. Please advise me on the vitamins and food I should be taking. --many thanks.

Hey sandra,

I'm extremely sorry but I'm unable to follow you. Is it the UTI that is bothering you?

Re: Please Help

There's really nothing that you can do to protect yourself from secondhand smoke and it's health dangers except to quit and not sing in smoky night clubs. I know many cities are banning smoking in restaurants and bars to protect the health of the workers and non-smoking customers. I guess the best you could do besides quitting is to limit your exposure. When you aren't singing, try to stay in a non-smoking area and avoid the smoke. Also drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
